{#110} autumn spice

{season} autumn
{colors} cinnamon, peach, ecru
{description} oh how i ♥ autumn.. who doesn't love a season that brings us such warm and comforting colors into our lives. pairing the spicy cinnamon with the light peach is perfect for any wedding taking place in the beginning of autumn where it "feels" like fall but the temperatures are still relatively warm.

{engagement} linda + jimmy

this engagement session was sent over by nyc own {tae photography}.  one thing i love about the city is how it can offer such amazing and different settings for a shoot.  i'll let linda tell you herself their adorable story... "jim and i met working for different judges in the same federal court house, in of all places, scranton, pa.  much like jim and pam, our love blossomed in the "office" and we got engaged after about 2 years of dating.  during our time in scranton, we were fortunate enough to ski a lot in the mountains of pa.  keeping with this theme, jim took me away to a lovely holiday weekend to vermont and proposed to me on a mountain top, one knee down, with skis on!  it was a beautiful day on the mountain - the snows were falling and we celebrated by skiing down to the lodge and getting some smores.
"for our engagement shoot, we wanted to capture a day in our lives that is most reflective of us.  we live near central park and our favorite activity to do on a sunday is to grab the ny times, some food and our little dog for a picnic brunch.  we wanted tae to be our "spy" for a day and capture our day.  he did a wonderful job."

congrats to linda + jimmy!!!

{friday faves} plates

happy friday everyone!
a few days ago i was browsing pottery barn website and i came across this clever idea of wrapping twine around different size platters and mounting them on the wall to display photos and note cards. well that had me thinking ....how about replacing the note cards with escort cards.  and then other ideas began to pop up like how a plate wall would also be a great alternative for a guest book or alter backdrop too. check out some more ideas below on how you can incorporate a plate wall in your wedding. which one is your fave?
1. wall display {pottery barn}
2. chalkboard plate {the rubber pumpkin}
3. plate quotes {country living}
4. plate backdrop {meg perotti}
5. plate guest book {martha stewart weddings}

{shoot} rustic backyard

ashley over at {13:13 boutique wedding photography} and her friend daniel set off to create a rustic diy wedding shoot in daniel’s backyard along with the help of his wife and friends. here is what ashley had to say about this shoot. “we all threw ideas in about how we wanted the shoot to look and feel and daniel's wife stephanie took the reigns with styling and baking. we liked the idea of rustic, diy with a slight modern twist. the details came together between the group of us contributing what we had/found after discussing the "look". the location was daniel and stephanie's backyard.”
ashley's friends megan + blake who've been married for 3+ years posed as models for the shoot.
blake's boutonnière comes from {pixel & hank}
the invitation design was created by ashley’s husband because megan + blake are part of an indie bike scene in florida called critical mass that helps bring awareness to cyclist.
